Book Reviews

Beast by Skye Moon

Rating: 🖤🖤🖤🖤.5

Raygan is fresh out of a relationship with Gabriel who did nothing but cheat on her after he got a little money and street cred. Aasim put his whole heart and loyalty into a woman he knew most of his life only for her to prove that she wasn’t loyal to him in return. After three years of hunting down his ex he finally finds her but that encounter put Raygan in Aasims path causing him to do the unthinkable. The longer they are forced together the more they get to know each other and feelings start to develop.

I was not at all expecting this storyline. I was glued to this book from the first chapter and couldn’t put it down. I loved Raygan, I thought she was going to be this naive good girl but honey this girl played no games with Aasim ass. She walked in that strange mans house demanding answers about her father and was not backing down, I was like okay Rey girl I see you. From that point on no matter how Aasim treated her she didnt back down. I loved her fiesty attitude. Every time she opened her mouth to cuss out Aasim I was amused. She was also such a caring person, even when Aasim turned her life upside down and was evil to her  she sat right by his side when he needed her.

Now let’s talk about Aasim…if you have been reading my reviews then you may have noticed by now that I am a sucker for a damaged man who is rough around the edges and has built walls you have to break down to penetrate his heart. To me those are the ones who love the hardest and Aasim was no different. His ass was evil and I loved it because I knew once Reygan’s sweet personality broke him down he was going to go hard for her, and boy did he. This man started a war over her ass and I was here for it.

I loved Aasims family, their back and forth bickering was too cute and funny, little Reygan fit right on in with them. Reygan needed a family and they treated her like a sister. I also enjoyed the beauty and the beast vibe. I honestly wasn’t expecting that, even through I guess the title gives it away but I really paid no attention to that I just picked up the book without reading the synopsis because I knew I wanted to read Skye Moon’s catalog.

The build up to Aasim and Reygan’s relationship was great. Skye showed us how Reygan went from hating Aasim to falling in love with him. This was a slow burn romance that I enjoyed. I enjoyed the moments they shared on their way to love and just the character development in general.

I have been wanting to get into Skye’s catalog for a few months now and I am so excited I finally did. Beast completely set the tone for me, if she keeps this up I am sure I will be flying through her catalog over the next couple months. One negative is there were so many errors in this book. Any other time I would have stopped reading the book but the storyline was so good I couldn’t stop. I have also read some of her recent novellas and there weren’t as many errors so I looked over that since this was her first book but it did make me rate it 4 1/2 stars vs the 5 stars it deserved.
